We are seeking a Temporary Building Operator to ensure our building is managed and maintained in a safe, presentable, and environmentally friendly manner. This role supports the overall performance and reliability of the property while upholding our commitment to sustainability.
The position covers operations, maintenance, and documentation responsibilities, including control of base‑building equipment, coordination with contractors, energy‑management participation, upkeep of cleanliness standards, preventative maintenance, and rigorous compliance tracking.
- Control base building equipment such as chillers, centrifugal pumps, and air‑handling systems.
- Coordinate and assist contractors to complete required tasks.
- Perform water treatment chemical testing and critical system testing, including chilled water backup and generator tests.
- Participate in energy management practices for mechanical and ventilation systems.
- Provide ongoing tour and inspection reports.
- Support and improve WHMIS and environmental health and safety programs.
- Work under minimal supervision, including shift work Monday to Friday, on‑call rotation, and overtime as needed.
- Maintain highest standards of cleanliness and housekeeping.
- Execute scheduled preventative maintenance using the Angus PM system.
- Conduct demand maintenance and repairs on fans, pumps, and related equipment.
- Enforce corporate OH&S, environmental, sustainability, and property‑management policies.
- Track and schedule work to ensure annual compliance testing and inspections are completed.
- Manage tenant work‑order requests via the Angus TR system, ensuring tenant satisfaction.
- Maintain operator logs, checklists, and inspection records.
- Provide comprehensive health benefits for employee and family.

Ideal candidates bring at least two years of commercial property‑management experience, strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, BAS, and life‑safety systems, and hold a 5th‑class power engineering license or BES certification. A valid driver’s license, a collaborative team‑oriented attitude, hands‑on mechanical/electrical troubleshooting skills, and a passion for sustainability are also required.
- Minimum 2 + years experience in commercial property management operations.
- Strong knowledge of building HVAC, plumbing, electrical, BAS, and life‑safety systems.
- Hold a 5th‑class power engineering license or BES certification.
- Possess a valid driver’s license.
- Demonstrate a highly collaborative and team‑oriented personality.
- Exhibit hands‑on mechanical and electrical expertise with strong troubleshooting skills.
