Champion PENTA’s safety culture on all healthcare job sites, where safety and infection control are the highest priorities. This includes overseeing compliance with OSHA, hospital safety protocols, Interim Life Safety Measures (ILSM), and all requirements outlined in the Corporate Safety Manual and Assignment of Responsibilities.
Attend all pre-installation meetings and make sure that subcontractors are properly prepared.
Ensure hoisting plan meets OSHA and PENTA policies (including required critical picks and 3rd party reviews). Develop crane schedules and logistics. Review all items identified in the lift plan for compliance, crane position, rigging, outrigger pad, operator certs, before pick is made. Verify equipment onsite matches approved crane plans.
Review all shop drawings and submittals for accuracy including healthcare-specific systems (medical gas, DI/RO water, AHU filtration requirements, lead shielding, etc).
Perform additional duties as assigned, supporting both project execution and the growth of PENTA’s healthcare portfolio.
Coordinate procurement with the construction schedule, with special attention to long-lead healthcare items such as imaging equipment, air-handling units, medical gas components, nurse call systems, and specialized MEP equipment. Communicate schedule-impacting items promptly to the project team and Owner.
Make sure that the RFI's/Submittals (Shop Drawings) on the project are pertinent, correct, and make sense.
Maintain and build new relationships with architects, healthcare industry partners, and subcontractors.
Develop detailed project logistics plan with a heightened awareness of patient, staff, and visitor safety, coordinating with hospital facility leadership, infection control, security, and clinical teams. Have the plan review and approved by a Sr. Superintendent.
Lead the development and review of Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and ensure subcontractor Job Site Safety Plans reflect the unique risks of healthcare environments, including patient proximity, occupied spaces, and sensitive equipment.
Create clear and concise project PENTA daily reports. Participate in collection of subcontractor daily reports as required for project verification requirements.
Review design documents for compliance with building codes/ADA and ensure field compliance. Must understand the timing of and coordinate all field inspections including IRA, life safety, and medical gas inspections with subcontractors and attend as required.
