The Lead Manufacturing Engineer will sustain, improve, and support troubleshooting and maintenance of automated equipment within the Fuel Component Operation. This role develops and delivers tooling used to manufacture hardware for commercial nuclear power reactors, with a focus on motion‑control solutions to meet manufacturing needs and solve complex technical challenges.
Key responsibilities include designing and developing specialty tooling and equipment using mechanical, electrical, software, and motion‑control principles, managing daily equipment operation, and providing guidance to operators and maintenance technicians. The engineer will create fabrication drawings, specifications, operational instructions, and technical reports, while leading process‑improvement initiatives and supporting lean and preventive‑maintenance programs.
The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering and at least five years of manufacturing‑engineer experience, including two years in a production environment (or equivalent experience with an associate or high‑school diploma). Candidates must be able to support urgent machine issues off‑hours, walk stairs, and possess legal authorization to work in the United States.
Desired characteristics include strong experience with motion‑control component selection, programming, and troubleshooting, development of equipment documentation, and execution of improvement projects for automated industrial equipment. Familiarity with GE/Emerson PLCs, Oracle/SQL, PI Process Historian, and regulated‑environment compliance is preferred, as are excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.
Compensation ranges from $95 k to $120 k (or $91.7 k–$152.7 k with geographic differentials) and includes a discretionary performance bonus.
