Description

• Support project team in achieving scope, budget, schedule alignment, integrated team experience, construction readiness, and strong financial performance.
• Establish and manage project budget and scope expectations, maintain budget trending logs, and handle related communications and resources.
• Create and manage project schedules and key milestones, holding team members accountable for meeting them.
• Assist with regulatory approval and permitting processes.
• Prepare bid packages and contract manuals.
• Support bid analysis and subcontractor selection.
• Identify technical design and specification concerns and escalate for resolution.

Requirements

Mortenson is seeking an experienced Design Phase Engineer I to support project leadership during the design phase, focusing on customer experience, financial performance, scheduling, estimating, design, and planning to ensure a smooth transition to construction. The role bridges design activities with construction readiness, contributing to overall project success.

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil or Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, Estimating, or a related field.
• Minimum two years of relevant experience.
• Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Project, and relevant web applications.

Base pay ranges from $84,100 to $113,500, with higher ranges in specific locations such as Denver, Chicago, Seattle, Portland, and Washington, D.C. Pay placement considers knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity, and the position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
