The Project Engineer assists Project Managers to ensure that work installed on the project meets plan and specification requirements.
Working closely with architects, superintendents, and the project team, the Engineer reviews shop drawings and submittals, conducts value and constructability analyses, manages schedules, and coordinates meetings and documentation to keep the project on track.
- Review project plans, specifications, shop drawings, and submittals for compliance.
- Perform value analysis and constructability reviews, recommending appropriate materials.
- Communicate design inconsistencies to architects and suggest cost‑saving methods.
- Attend and document project team, owner/architect, and subcontractor coordination meetings; distribute minutes.
- Publish weekly progress reports and ensure necessary construction information is reviewed and distributed.
- Update project schedules and coordinate dates for shop drawings, samples, and material deliveries.
- Assist in preparing bid packages and defining scopes of work for trade contractors.
- Maintain logs tracking shop drawing status, RFIs, change requests, and proposals.
- Advise on concrete pour procedures and inspect structural reinforcement.
- Coordinate slump and compaction testing to verify compliance with specifications.
- Review field procedures and final installation of structural elements for compliance.
- Sample work, observe methods, and recommend improvements to production efficiency.
- Follow all safety policies, report unsafe activities, and ensure OSHA compliance.

Candidates should hold a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field and have 1–3 years of construction experience. Strong communication, blueprint reading, and proficiency with Word, Excel, and scheduling software are required, along with a solid understanding of OSHA safety standards.
- Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 1–3 years of construction field experience; one year preferred.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel; scheduling software knowledge preferred.
- Strong written and oral communication skills with proper organization and grammar.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and construction documents.
- Demonstrated flexibility, cooperation, integrity, and problem‑solving abilities.
- Knowledge of OSHA and company safety requirements.
