Mobilisation Engineer

Description

• Produce accurate deck layouts in CAD, detailing all equipment specifications and mobilisation arrangements.
• Generate detailed schematics illustrating electrical and mechanical interfaces between project equipment and the vessel or installation.
• By maximising upfront planning and preparation, the Mobilisation Engineer contributes to a smooth, cost-effective, and safe mobilisation process.
• Assist in preparing project call-off equipment lists for mobilisation activities.
• Confidently manage on-site subcontractors during mobilisation phases.
• The role focuses on enabling the mobilisation to be completed efficiently, safely and on schedule.
• Serve as the interface between project equipment and the mobilisation teams.
• Collaborate with procurement to prepare HRF/PRF documentation for mobilisation-related equipment.
• Coordinate with the vessel bridge to generate hot work and work-at-height (WAH) permits during mobilisation.
• Prepare mobilisation notifications and distribute them to the wider project team.
• Communicate with the logistics department on equipment delivery requirements, including export and entry procedures.
• Identify potential issues in advance and develop plans to address all possible scenarios.
• Conduct Toolbox Talks (TBTs) on mobilisation activities with the relevant shift team.
• Communicate with subcontractors before mobilisation regarding their scope of work, availability, shifts, and provided tooling.
• Develop detailed mobilisation and demobilisation plans, including accurate timelines.
• Review technical mobilisation documentation, including deck plans, structural reports, and vessel and system schematics.
• Assist the Mobilisation Manager in preparing and delivering all necessary documentation, ensuring that every element of the mobilisation is carefully planned, documented, and executed.
• Conduct vessel visits to understand the vessel particulars and requirements for a specific mobilisation.
• Develop a thorough understanding of project equipment operations.
• Review and prepare mobilisation lift plans as required.

Requirements

• Proficient in AutoCAD, including deck plans, rigging sketches, and related technical drawings.
• Remote/Mobilisation Worksite.
• Effective communicator at all levels, both internally and externally.
• Good IT proficiency, with competence in standard engineering and office software applications.
• Degree or Diploma in a relevant engineering or technical discipline (Mechanical/Structural), or equivalent industry experience.
• Well-organised with strong planning and time-management skills.
• Strong team player; supportive, adaptable, proactive, and resilient when facing challenges.
• Capable of manging workload independently while effectively contributing to team objectives.
• Ability to coordinate and consolidate information from multiple sources, including internal teams and external customers.
• Knowledgeable in rigging and sea fastening principles.
• Familiar with marine and vessel operations.
• Demonstrates structured and methodical working practices.
• Be available to attend the mobilisation site and coordinate on-site activities.
• Strong attention to detail with a diligent and meticulous approach to work.
