This includes recognizing health and safety hazards, reporting incidents, fulfilling responsibilities under the applicable legislation, as well as participating in in-services and fire drills. Participates in the ongoing Fire Prevention, and Pest Control programs and any other programs as required.

Utilizes point of sale system for guest and resident meals.
Provides assistance to the cook in the preparation of food and assembly of salad/sandwich plates, as assigned.
Ensures temperature records and food samples are taken and labeled as per regulations, reporting any deficiencies.
Maintains effective communication, both written and verbal with co-workers, residents and guests including addressing resident concerns during dining service. Uses the appropriate lines of communication with supervisory staff.
Maintains cleanliness in dining area including washing dishes, pots, pans, and cleaning kitchen equipment and area, as assigned according to established cleaning procedures. Sanitizes dishwasher area after each meal.
