  • Work closely with the Project Director and Commercial Director to ensure project governance and reporting is timely, robustly and transparently carried out.
  • Be a representative of Lendlease within the community, with government and amongst industry.
  • Collaborate with senior members of the Development business and other Business Units to achieve outcomes.
  • Responsible for the financial performance of the project including the management of the overall commercial assessment and assisting the business in achieving business plan targets for each development stage.
  • Lead a team with a focus on wellbeing, performance, success, outcomes, and career progression for all team members.
  • Lead the development and implementation of an operational delivery strategy, establish Smithfield as a destination within Birmingham and secure the long term successful management of the place and assets.
  • Assist in the annual production of the Smithfield Business Plan that integrates with the overall Development/JV business plan.
  • Inspire and direct the Smithfield project team in accordance with the shared objectives for the project and how these interplay with Business objectives.
  • Ensure an agreed balance of support is provided from discipline areas, including infrastructure, construction, place making, social economic, sustainability and investment management to achieve project outcomes.
  • Responsible for ongoing evolution and excellence of Smithfield as an exemplar place with a strong community.

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • MRICS or MRTPI desirable
  • Experience of owning meaningful and inclusive community engagement processes
  • Experience of leading community engagement processes
  • A highly collaborative individual who demonstrates ability to bring together a multi layered team, and lead internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrable experience of managing outcomes in large scale urban regeneration projects and demonstrable understanding of development and long-term asset management processes
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications (e.g. property, engineering, architecture, or construction etc.)
  • Proven exposure to managing 3rd party stakeholders
  • An understanding and appreciation of the contractual relationships between parties (landowners, partners, local authority, tenants, funders, banks etc.)
  • Experience of planning and delivery of regeneration schemes
  • Proven competency to carry out the accountabilities outlined above
  • Strong people management and issue resolution skills, including the ability to upwardly manage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Relevant sector experience
  • Experience of a Compulsory Purchase Order process from private treaty offers through to enquiry
  • Commercial acumen, decision making and negotiation skills
  • Ability to motivate and manage internal and external project teams, and delegate
