Head of Engineering (Expansion)

Description

• Lead engineering efforts focused on international expansion and localization
• Build integrations with local grid operators, regulators, and third-party providers
• Architect scalable systems that can flex to support diverse market conditions (e.g., tariffs, billing schemes, compliance)
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to scope and deliver expansion goals
• Establish clear processes to balance core product velocity with expansion requirements
• Mentor and lead a team of engineers focused on growth and new markets

Requirements

• 5+ years experience as a software engineer, including 2+ years in a technical leadership role
• Experience with multi-region infrastructure and deployment
• Proven engineering leadership experience
• Strong product instincts; ability to translate market requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Deep understanding of backend systems and distributed architecture
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity, shifting priorities, and regulatory complexity
• Experience launching technical products in international or regulated markets
• Familiarity with energy systems, market regulation, or utility integration
• Background in building flexible pricing, billing, or compliance architectures
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
