The Laboratory Manager is responsible for supervising and managing laboratory testing operations and staff, ensuring accurate analysis and reporting of products such as crude oils, fuel oils, middle distillates, petroleum and petrochemicals, as well as LPG and LNG gases.
- Assume P&L responsibility for assigned laboratory operations.
- Assist clients in understanding laboratory analysis results.
- Verify the authenticity of laboratory certificates.
- Receive client orders, track sample progress, and report status.
- Recommend upgrades to the regional laboratory manager.
- Participate in local marketing initiatives.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of sampling techniques.
- Ensure compliance with laboratory QA and safety manuals.
- Perform testing, analysis, and other assigned duties.
- Conduct quality control of laboratory solutions and standards.
- Identify industry trends through competitive analysis and suggest improvements.
- Direct, coordinate, and evaluate laboratory staff performance.
- Interview, hire, train, assign work, appraise, reward, discipline, and resolve employee issues.
- Stay current by attending seminars, conferences, and professional meetings.
- Manage multiple priorities simultaneously (required).
- Take initiative, addressing issues proactively and completing tasks efficiently (required).

Required qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Science with a chemistry focus, at least three years of instrumentation and calibration experience in a chemistry lab handling chemicals, petrochemicals and petroleum products, and three to five years in a management or supervisory role. Prior experience in the oil and gas industry is preferred.
