You will partner with data owners and project teams to ensure compliance with data management, governance and quality standards, and to advise on best practices across the organisation. You will also provide advice, guidance and training on data management policies, controls and tooling, and support the development of data governance practices and tools. The position requires building and managing a network of internal and external stakeholders, organising sessions to mitigate data risks, and occasional travel between office locations.

Engage proactively with data owners to ensure compliance with data management, governance, cataloguing, monitoring, sharing and data quality.
Work with projects and directorate stakeholders to understand business processes, identify critical data, and advise on data best practices.
Provide advice, guidance and training on data management policies, controls and tooling as a central team contact.
Drive data governance practices across directorates, identifying continuous improvement activities and monitoring progress.
Contribute to the development and implementation of data governance practices and tooling in collaboration with policy makers, IT and delivery teams.
Develop and operate data governance workflows, including centralized assessment and triage procedures.
Capture, curate and facilitate consumption of metadata for NESO data assets.
Assist with data troubleshooting and signposting within the data governance and quality space.
Represent the Data, Digital & Technology directorate at internal and external events to build and manage stakeholder networks.
Build and maintain a network of stakeholders across the organisation.
Organise and lead sessions with stakeholders to identify and mitigate data risks and upcoming challenges.

Benefits

The role offers a competitive salary of £61,000 to £72,000 depending on experience, plus a performance‑based bonus, 26 days of annual leave and a contributory pension scheme with a double match up to 12%.
