Maintenance Mechanic (STE)

Description

• Performs maintenance and repairs to all equipment as defined above as it pertains to his/her trade under the direct supervision of his/her immediate He / she shall at no time be assigned or stand an engineer's watch.
• Installs, services, and repairs environmental control units.
• Provide reports and documentation of completed work.
• Dismantling or partly dismantling machines and performing repairs that mainly involve the use of hand tools in scraping and fitting parts; replacing broken or defective parts with items obtained from stock
• Ordering the production of a replacement part by a machine shop or sending the machine to a machine shop for major repairs
• Repairs machinery or mechanical Work involves most of the following: examining machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose sources of trouble
• Execute watch tours in a timely manner.
• Monitoring, maintenance, and repairs of the BMCS systems on the site.
• Institute corrective action and/or inform his supervisor on any deficiencies found in the course of performing the job.
• Troubleshooting of equipment on site.
• Perform minor repairs and preventive maintenance on building equipment, machinery and components located in the interior or exterior of the building.
• Performance of the preventive maintenance of equipment on site.
• Preparing written specifications for major repairs or to produce parts ordered from machine shops
• Push/pull or move/lift equipment, supplies, and/or parts.
• Monitor subcontractors, as assigned, in their task and provide reports when needed.

Requirements

• Reassembling machines and making all necessary adjustments for In general, the work of a Maintenance Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience. Excluded from this classification are workers whose primary duties involve setting up or adjusting machines. Performs other duties as assigned.
• Be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of Maintenance.
• Must possess one or more of the following certifications:
• Utilizes knowledge of refrigeration theory, pipefitting and structural layout, mounts compressor and condenser units on platform or floor, using hand tools, following blueprints or engineering specifications, fabricates, assembles and installs ductwork and chassis parts, using portable metalworking tools and welding equipment, and installs evaporator unit in chassis or in air-duct system.
• Heavy physical effort (lift/carry up to 75 lbs.)
• Prolong, extensive or considerable standing/walking.
• CFC Certification
• Manual dexterity and mobility.
• Technician Certification
• Considerable reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling and crouching.
• Demonstrate the ability to read and understand Blueprints, schematics and specifications.
• Five (5) or more years of experience in maintenance and repairs on Commercial-Industrial building equipment to include but not limited to: Chillers, Pumps, Control Systems, Air Handlers, Cooling Towers, Heat Exchangers, VAV's VFD's.
• Be able to demonstrate practical knowledge of Building Air Systems.
