Ensures compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures by the Engineering Department. Maintains facility and grounds quality based on hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications. Establishes, maintains, and trains standards and procedures for operations and safe working conditions in the department.
Ensures proper operation, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair of all heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment. Develops and implements an inspection and preventive maintenance program for all building, equipment, and guest rooms, including training engineering staff and documenting work performed. Responsible for responding to and handling all engineering and emergency related issues.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Ensures communication with the Chief Engineer, General Manager, all other department managers, and engineering staff. Anticipates guests’ needs, responds promptly, and acknowledges guests at any time of day. Is familiar with all hotel services, features, and local attractions to accurately respond to guest inquiries.
Assists the Chief Engineer with the weekly schedule and departmental meetings. Follows up on projects and assignments given by the General Manager. Is available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts as required. Performs other duties as assigned.
The Engineering Supervisor will be responsible for all aspects of the engineering department, including proper operation, maintenance, preventative maintenance, and repair of all heating, ventilation, refrigeration, and mechanical equipment. The candidate must develop, coordinate, and monitor a maintenance program to ensure safety, security, and comfort for team members and guests. Responsibilities also include leadership, training, and supervising all engineering/security associates in accordance with Shaner Hotels and Marriott standards.
Job type is full‑time, paid $25 per hour, and work is performed on‑site.
