Structural Fitter

Description

• Accurately interpret blueprints to understand layout and positioning of components.
• Precisely marking layout lines with squares, measuring tapes and angle finders to tack components in place ensuring proper fit and tolerances.
• Adhere to all safety procedures related to working with power tools, forklifts, overhead cranes, welders, cutting torches and wearing proper PPE.
• Inspecting welds and assembled structures for defects and ensuring compliance with quality standards.

Requirements

• Flux core welding experience preferred
• Regularly encounter moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, and a variety of outside weather conditions
• Proficient in various metal fabrication techniques including welding, flame and plasma cutting, grinding and bending.
• Ability to climb temporary or permanent stairs and ladders
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely maneuver around various construction equipment and vehicles on an active construction site
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
• 3 – 5 years’ structural fitting experience preferred
• Able to bend, squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, balance, stoop, and reach regularly
• Ability to lift 50 pounds

Benefits

• Day Shift Schedule: Typically 6am-4:30pm Monday-Friday, with some Saturdays required. Overtime hours available
