Lead, oversee, observe, and participate in inspecting construction work quality and materials on a variety of projects
Complete daily work reports: sketches, measurements, photographs and calculations for each pay item.
Review construction records, inspection reports and records audits to ensure contract compliance
Monitor project phasing and traffic control plans and ensures compliance with specifications for devices; safety laws, rules, and regulations
Leading, assigning, reviewing, and monitoring the work of others
Performing calculations to include material and labor estimates, expenses, technical survey data and engineering calculations, applicable industry safety standards, guidelines and specifications, traffic control procedures, traffic management, and The Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices Public relations for maintaining effective working relationships with individuals and groups
Consult with Project Engineers, resident project representatives and contractors' superintendents on work progress and construction problems; reviews equipment utilization data and time/cost estimates
Verify the work of contractors for accuracy, proper work methods, techniques, and compliance with applicable standards and specifications
Coordinate materials testing personnel to ensure proper and prompt material testing
Resolve differences in interpretation of plans and specifications

3 or more years of full-time inspection experience on roadway, drainage and utility projects. ARDOT, or other DOT, including FAA (airports), project experience a plus
Communicate effectively: construction engineering policies and procedures, construction inspection and evaluation methods, procedures and techniques, applicable testing methods, processes and procedures, reading and interpreting applicable plans, schematics, blueprints and maps
Flexibility to travel to construction sites, however not for long periods of time, and work outside of normal business hours
Have an understanding of construction standards and practices
Valid Arkansas Driver's License required
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
Outstanding relationships with owners, stakeholders and developers across multiple regions and disciplines.
