The Deputy Site Manager reports to the Site Manager and supports the on‑site execution of hydro turbine and generator projects. Core duties include EHS planning, execution strategy, scheduling, cost tracking, and site resource planning. Decisions are made within defined parameters, applying concepts to varied complexities and resolving issues through immediate action or short‑term planning.
The role involves developing and enforcing the OneGE Safety Shutdown Plan, managing scope by planning, organizing, and supervising the field team, and collaborating closely with the project planner to maintain resource‑intensive schedules. Responsibilities also cover cost management, preparation of site infrastructure and tooling before mobilization, and oversight of site documentation such as quality, EHS, daily reports, timekeeping, and expense records. The Deputy Site Manager actively participates in design reviews, lessons‑learned processes, defines special tooling requirements, promotes margin‑improvement initiatives, and contributes to training programs, while traveling 70–100 % of the time as needed.
Candidates must hold a university degree (B.A.Sc. or M.A.Sc.) in a technical or management discipline, or possess equivalent experience. Required experience includes construction site management, power‑generation projects, cost control, and familiarity with hydroelectric machines, turbines, and generators. Strong leadership, excellent communication skills, and fluency in English are essential.
