  • Assists with preparing and cleaning up after activities.
  • Assists in the organizing of special events, outings as assigned.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of recreational activities that meet the interests, needs and capabilities of participants under the supervision of Activities Director or Recreation Therapist.
  • Assists Activities Director/Recreation Therapist in assessing and reassessing participants’ functional status in relationship to participation in recreational activities.
  • Completes assigned activity charting and reporting as assigned by Activities Director or Recreation Therapist.
  • Leads and/or assists in large groups, small groups 1:1’s and individual activities (exercise, arts and crafts, games, current events, sensory, etc.
  • Attends any meetings regarding participant care as assigned by Activities Director or Recreation Therapist.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of how to use and maintain materials and equipment of need to provide recreational activities
  • Knowledge of the principles’ practices standards and techniques of the provision of recreational activities.
  • Knowledge of safety requirements when providing and implementing recreational.
  • One year’s experience of providing activities programming to elderly population preferred
  • Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with participants, coworkers, medical staff and the public
  • Must have one year’s experience working with the elderly population.
