- Bolt, clamp, and tack-weld parts to secure in position for welding.
- Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
- Observes SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times.
- As required, perform safety inspections of work area, equipment and tools, in accordance with SIC policy to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC’s safety program. Resolve all discrepancies found through inspections.
- Select equipment and plan layout, assembly, and welding, applying knowledge of physical properties of metal machining weld shrinkage, and welding techniques.
- Lay out, position, align, and fit components together.
- Detect, recognize, and respond to dangerous conditions or situations.
- Rate information using standards that can be measured or checked.
- Assemble parts by bolting and riveting.
- Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts, using cutting torch, straightening press, and hand tools.
- Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.
- May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
- Set up equipment and weld parts, using arc, gas-shielded arc, submerged arc, or gas welding equipment.
