  • Work with all different groups within SRTA, engineering, project management office, operations, communications, and the legal team. Serves as an extension to client staff, working with the Agency’s staff on a daily basis. This position will require 5 days in the office with the team. Communicates regularly with client staff, project managers, external agency and consultant staff.
  • Establishes and maintains records or files of technical data or documents.
  • Assists in the design and development of toll concepts, including requirement analysis, , development and communication of operational concepts, specifications development, oversight of system development, oversight of installation and testing.
  • The job functions will be carried out within small, project-oriented, multidisciplinary teams of Tolling professionals and support direct interaction with clients within the context of project progress meetings, design reviews, operations, and project production and delivery.
  • Applies general planning, operational, and engineering principles to solve specific toll-related problems.

  • Experience with AutoCAD or MicroStation (preferred)
  • EDUCATION: Must have completed 36 hours towards a civil engineering, mechanical engineering, or industrial and systems engineering degree from an ABET accredited program by the start of the internship (Spring 2026) and have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
  • Ability to assemble and analyze data.
  • Good technical writing and communications skills, including the ability to present concepts verbally.
  • Ability to perform in a professional courteous manner and remain friendly while under pressure.
  • Familiarity with the use of Microsoft Outlook or equivalent e-mail program, as well as the use of Internet and other information processing and storage techniques.
  • Work includes application of knowledge of Toll Systems, Toll Operations, and relevant Toll related Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) technology to the investigation of needs and problems related to transportation planning, engineering and operations, the coordination of Toll project activities, and the preparation of preliminary deliverables and documents.
  • Ability to process paper/electronic documents and utilize computer equipment.
  • SPECIAL SKILLS: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams. Ability to assemble and analyze data. Good technical writing and communications skills, including the ability to present concepts verbally. Ability to perform in a professional courteous manner and remain friendly while under pressure.   • EXPERIENCE: No experience is generally required if accepted into a Bachelor's degree program in a related technical field.
