Description

The role supports skilled craft workers by performing assigned tasks and stepping into other trades as training and skill levels allow. The employee follows direction from foremen and higher‑skilled workers, contributing to crew efficiency and quality.

All tasks are performed under a safety‑sensitive framework, meaning the work may involve operating equipment, handling hazardous materials, or other activities that could impact employee or public safety.

• Eliminate waste such as waiting, rework, transport, storage, and time.
• Seek supervisor guidance when unsure about safety or work issues.
• Learn and recognize all safety hazards.
• Safely operate work‑related tools and equipment.
• Identify improvement opportunities and learn from others.
• Maintain positive relationships with crew members.
• Deliver high‑quality work safely and productively.
• Provide feedback to ensure needed materials, tools, and information are available.
• Occasionally stoop, kneel, or bend.
• Use telephone, computer, email, or other electronic devices on a limited basis for communication.
• Move within confined, cluttered, and uneven areas.
• Comply with all safety standards and procedures.
• Frequently use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry, or feel objects.
• Climb and maintain balance on steel/wood frameworks, stairs, ladders, and scaffolds.
• Occasionally lift, push, or pull objects up to 50 lbs.

Requirements

The position typically involves up to 12‑hour shifts in varying outdoor conditions, requiring the use of personal protective equipment, the ability to work at heights, lift moderate loads, and navigate confined or uneven spaces.

• Apply basic math (add, subtract, multiply, divide).
• Complete NCCER Core Curriculum or hold a high school diploma (preferred).
• Have 1‑3+ years experience in industrial/commercial construction (level I‑III preferred).
• Demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Wear required personal protective equipment (steel‑toe shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, hard hat, vest, etc.).
• Frequently reach above shoulder height and below waist.
• Perform hard physical work up to 12‑hour shifts in varying temperatures and outdoor conditions.
