Basix Assessor

Description

In this role, you’ll be responsible for assessing and certifying residential home designs to ensure they meet BASIX and energy-efficiency standards. Working closely with internal stakeholders, you’ll ensure each design is compliant, buildable, and aligned with environmental performance requirements.

• Liaise with internal teams including Drafting, Design, Sales, and Estimating to ensure timely and compliant documentation.
• Recommend design adjustments to improve energy and water efficiency while maintaining buildability and customer preferences.
• Stay current with BASIX legislation changes and best-practice sustainability standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance compliance and sustainability outcomes across the business.
• Complete BASIX assessments and produce accurate BASIX and NatHERS certificates for all projects.
• Maintain organised electronic records of all assessments and certificates, adhering to version control processes.
• Review architectural plans to ensure compliance with BASIX, NatHERS, NCC, and relevant environmental performance standards.

Requirements

Clarendon Homes, part of Campbell Property Group (CPG) — one of Australia’s leading residential construction and property development companies — is seeking an experienced and detail-oriented BASIX Assessor to join our high-performing team in New South Wales.

• 2–3+ years’ experience as a BASIX Assessor or in a similar sustainability/compliance role within residential construction
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
• Strong knowledge of NCC, BASIX, NatHERS, and local council/developer environmental requirements
• Loan Market Elevate – expert financial solutions to support our customers’ property journeys
• Organised, self-motivated, and confident managing multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to interpret architectural drawings and provide practical compliance recommendations
• Up-to-date BASIX/NatHERS accreditation (essential)
• High attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy and quality
