Key duties include supervising the survey crew, maintaining field notes, communicating with office staff, and training subordinates. The incumbent will operate robotic instruments, total stations, GPS units (fast static, RTK, VRS), autolevels, and data collectors, and download data nightly. The position may require lifting up to 50 lb and working more than 40 hours per week, with travel up to 12 days per project.
The role requires at least four years of overall survey experience, including four years as a survey party chief. Required experience includes ALTA, topographic, and construction surveys; TXDOT surveying and SUE are a plus. Candidates must possess strong math skills, proficiency with field equipment, and the ability to work independently or as part of a crew. A valid driver’s license and willingness to travel nationally are essential.
Applicants must have a high‑school diploma or GED and meet all pre‑employment screening requirements, including drug testing and background checks. Required certifications must be maintained, and a valid driver’s license is mandatory. The role offers great pay, benefits, and per‑diem for travel.
Performance expectations include cross‑training, accurate daily reporting, effective communication with clients and supervisors, and adherence to KCI policies, OSHA standards, and project scope, schedule, and budget. Employees are expected to review work for completeness, submit timely timesheets, mileage, and expense reports, and proactively resolve problems at the lowest level.
