OSP Designer

Description

• Review site survey data and incorporate findings into design plans.
• Work closely with project managers and field teams to ensure design feasibility and constructability.
• Perform self-checks and peer reviews to maintain accuracy and completeness.
• Prepare detailed construction drawings, splice diagrams, and BOMs.
• Support permitting processes by providing accurate drawings and documentation.
• Update and maintain records in design databases and mapping systems.
• Ensure designs meet local, state, and federal regulations, as well as client standards.
• Develop OSP designs including fiber routes, conduit layouts, and pole attachments using CAD/GIS tools.
• Respond to redlines and revise designs promptly.

Requirements

• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Skills:Proficiency in AutoCAD, MicroStation, or GIS-based design tools.
• Experience:2+ years in OSP design or telecommunications drafting.
• Apply knowledge of NESC, NEC, and other relevant codes.
• Understanding of fiber optic and copper network design principles.
• Education: Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting, or related field (or equivalent experience).
