This role is vital in balancing day-to-day maintenance with major projects, keeping our rail network reliable and future-ready.

As a Track Machine Planner, you’ll coordinate the scheduling, planning, and monitoring of specialised track machinery such as compliance machines, tampers, rail grinders, and ballast regulators. You’ll work closely with engineering, maintenance, and operations teams to optimise machine use, reduce disruptions, and ensure work is carried out safely and efficiently.

  • Proficiency with planning tools such as P6, Microsoft Project, or Excel.
  • Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across teams and with external partners.

  • A current full New Zealand driver’s licence and the flexibility to travel when required.
  • Experience in planning, scheduling, or project coordination, preferably in rail or infrastructure.
  • A relevant engineering or project management qualification (or equivalent experience).
