We are seeking a Production Manager to join our manufacturing plant. You will develop, manage and drive continuous process improvements within the plant to increase process capacity & reliability, improve product quality and reduce overall manufacturing costs. Furthermore, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations to ensure efficient and effective production processes.

  • Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure products meet company and industry standards.
  • Utilise lean manufacturing principles and other methodologies to streamline operations.
  • Allocate tasks and resources effectively to meet production goals.
  • Formulate and drive strategy to maximise plant utilisation and output targets
  • Ensure accurate data analysis and reporting systems are made available to all stakeholders
  • Drive best practice yield improvement program
  • Responding to any hazard or incident that is raised with you and providing or seeking the support required to respond to the identified workplace issue
  • Drive best practice safety program around behavioural change
  • Analyse production data to identify trends and make data-driven decisions
  • Work in alignment with the James Hardie Zero Harm pledge and workplace safety requirements
  • Be hands on with all plant machinery to identity and implement process improvements
  • Formulate agenda and drive change program to achieve high performance team
  • Take ownership through participating in health and safety initiatives / activities and training
  • Report any incidents, hazards, near misses or “at-risk” behaviours
  • Acting as a safety leader at all times and ensuring yourself and others perform their work safely
  • Lead, train, and evaluate production staff to ensure high performance and adherence to company policies.
  • Identify areas for process improvement and implement initiatives to enhance productivity and efficiency.

  • Strong knowledge of production processes, quality control, and safety standards.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects and a high-volume workload with shifting and competing responsibilities
  • Continually strive to develop skills and knowledge of the fibre cement process and related areas.
  • Minimum 5-10 years work experience in manufacturing or heavy industry with a focus on continuous process improvement
  • Strong ability to develop yourself and others to bring out the best in people and be highly team orientated
  • Advanced comprehension of the machinery and mechanical functions of the operation.
  • Proven ability to lead and develop high performance work team
  • Degree qualifications in Mechanical or Electrical engineering preferred or related discipline
  • Lean Black and/or Green Belt is preferred
  • Previous experience leading a team within a highly safety focused manufacturing plant environment
  • To be successful in this role we are looking for an ambitious Production Manager with a strategic vision & passion for continuous process improvements. You must be team orientated and have previous leadership experience driving positive change.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and help drive change within the plant

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $110k to $135k. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time. This position qualifies for benefits and you will be eligible to participate in a bonus plan.
