The Interior Design Technologist supports the successful delivery of interior design projects through the development of documentation, modeling, and coordination efforts. This role is focused on the development of strong technical competencies and communication skills through hands-on collaboration with interior designers and project teams.

  • Maintain a strong focus on meeting deadlines, taking ownership of assigned tasks, and following through independently with minimal supervision.
  • Actively contributes to team discussions around the development of best practices and systems.
  • Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Liaise with consultant teams and approving authorities under the direction of senior staff.
  • Support product research for interior materials, finishes, and systems.
  • Prepare comprehensive drawing packages for permit submissions and construction documentation.
  • Participate in site meetings, shop drawing reviews, and contract administration support tasks.
  • Collaborate in a fast-paced, fully in-office team environment.
  • Attend client and consultant meetings as required.
  • Ensure all work aligns with the firm’s Project Delivery standards, including proper use of filing systems, adherence to architectural procedures, and compliance with drawing and documentation protocols.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, constructability, consultant coordination, and compliance with applicable codes and bylaws.
  • Assist in setting up project documentation, modeling, and specifications across all phases.
  • Assist in the preparation of project building code analyses.

  • Demonstrate professionalism, flexibility, and effective communication in a collaborative setting.
  • 0–5 years of experience in the production of interior design construction documents.
  • Skills in InDesign, SketchUp, and 3D rendering considered assets.
  • Foundational knowledge of space planning, detailing, materials research, and integration with building systems.
  • Proficiency in Revit is required.
  • Able to work in a collaborative, in-office environment (100% in-office presence required to support direct team engagement and effective cross-functional coordination).
  • Diploma in Interior Design Technology, Architectural Technology, or related field from a recognized institution.
