  • Develop, or demonstrate from previous experience, a strong understanding of the market and competitive landscape, and proactively adapt the business's sales strategy to align with evolving industry trends and customer needs. You will provide hands-on leadership and guidance – being visible to your team, and peers – of this fast-paced and customer-led business.
  • Reporting to the Managing Director of Services, UK & Nordics, this role is part of the senior leadership team of the business. You will be responsible for developing and driving sales and commercial best practice, through effective performance management, coaching, training and leadership. The position will lead sales, business development and commercial excellence, with a direct team of 6 Sales / Commercial Leaders, and a total team of c. 35.

  • Additionally, you will possess the potential to progress within Sulzer, in the medium to long term, providing succession management depth to the organisation, and will be someone who ‘makes things happen’ with the relevant gravitas, drive, communications skills and leadership qualities.
  • This is a role for an established and effective Sales & Commercial Director, with the necessary experience and leadership skills to lead the Sales & Commercial function of a large, successful and complex multi-site engineering services business. You will be familiar with machinery such as pumps, compressors, steam/gas turbines, and electrical machines.
  • Degree-educated, you will have experience of leading a sales and commercial team within an international Aftermarket Service business of a relevant scale to Sulzer’s UK & Nordics region. Customer-facing, and strategic, you will possess strong financial and P&L ownership experience, and you will be comfortable within a matrix structured organisation.
