Additional duties include backwashing tanks and filter beds, performing routine maintenance with hand and power tools, conducting basic water‑quality tests, and maintaining accurate logs.
Applicants must possess a high school diploma or GED and obtain the appropriate Ohio EPA Water Treatment Plant Operator license for their level within 24 months of hire. Required licensure includes Class I for Plant Operator I, Class II for Plant Operator II, and Class III for Plant Operator III, with additional certification in wet‑chemistry within three months. Candidates should be able to work independently, perform manual labor in adverse weather, hold a valid driver’s license, and demonstrate strong problem‑solving abilities related to water‑quality issues.
Del‑Co Water is dedicated to delivering a vital water resource to the communities it serves. Recognized as a Top Workplace award winner, the company offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance, as well as a generous employer‑funded retirement contribution, 401(k) and Roth options, paid time off, and educational reimbursement. Work schedules cover a second‑shift Monday‑Wednesday (2 pm‑10 pm) and a first‑shift weekend schedule (Saturday‑Sunday, 6 am‑2 pm) at the Delaware, OH Olentangy Campus and the Lewis Center, OH RES Campus.
Del-Co Water, a 501-C (12) corporation, is a private, non-profit public drinking water system with a service area that extends into eight central Ohio counties. As a public water supplier, Del-Co Water operates under the authority of the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (Ohio EPA). The current design capacity of the treatment facilities is 45.5 million gallons of drinking water per day. Del-Co Water is currently reviewing demographic projections and expects continued growth of residential communities within the Del-Co service area. With this information, Del-Co Water will keep pace with future expansion by identifying and designing key infrastructure elements. Del-Co Water is committed to providing the best level of service related to drinking water to all current and future customers.
