  • Liaise with the community relations team to support the resolution of drainage issues impacting on neighbours and third parties.
  • Support the development of route specific plans including all maintenance and renewal activities and asset strategies, providing the prioritised investment work bank. Support the inclusion of all investment items into appropriate programmes and track through to completion including approval of programme changes.
  • Review the findings of drainage condition inspections for compliance with standards and to develop future scopes of works.
  • Maintain and improve comprehensive and accurate drainage asset records.
  • Liaise and meet with Network Rail Off Track Maintenance teams to provide advice on the requirements of drainage maintenance, develop effective maintenance plans and response to flood issues.
  • Undertake investigation into drainage related issues, ranging from track flooding to increased maintenance, to determine root cause and produce remits specifying required scopes of work.
  • Liaise with internal and external delivery teams to review and check on the delivery of determined schemes comprising drainage work banks.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to represent Network Rail Drainage Asset management with regards to drainage related issues such as third party nuisance claims and third party works affecting the flood risk of the rail corridor.
  • Direct the implementation of monitoring systems and undertake review of monitoring data to support operation of the infrastructure in extreme weather.

  • Experience in the design, installation or asset management of drainage infrastructure
  • An understanding of safety management systems and risk assessment techniques

  • An ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
  • HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent geotechnical qualification.
