Maintenance of equipment such as dressing of welding electrodes, oiling/greasing, machine settings, changing of tooling, and minor adjustments may be necessary. Complete necessary maintenance check sheets and inform Supervisor and / or Maintenance personnel of any problems.
Bring health and safety issues, unsafe acts and safety suggestions to management's attention or correct those they can.
Utilize manufacturing information, determine necessary parts/inventory, jigs/fixtures, and obtain materials from stock areas.
Participate actively in providing suggestions for the health and safety program improvement.
Maintain health and safety equipment in good working order.
Deliver material to/from workstations using material handling equipment, position work material on coil cradle / feeder. Ensure correct parts and matching documentation reach next process in a timely fashion.
Operate spotwelders, punch presses and other metal-fabrication equipment as directed. Inspect parts periodically or as directed utilizing manufacturing information such as drawings / blueprints, make necessary adjustments as required. Keep accurate piece count and other applicable records. Apply powder paint and shear various types of material to proper size. Inform Supervisor of any quality problems.
Know and implement regulatory compliance requirements in their work area.
Develop job safety analysis and safe working procedures.
Observe all health/hygiene and safety policies as directed and specified.
Provide assistance to higher-level sheet metal fabricators / operators in performance of their duties as required.
Complete necessary preparation work such as wiping, degreasing, de-burring, or grinding of components.
Maintain equipment and work area in a clean and orderly fashion, keeping oil deposits off of floor.
Actively participate in accident, injury and illness prevention activities
Keep other employees aware of health and safety practices and activities by actively observing fellow employee work practices and incorporating safety.
Identify and correct hazards and unsafe conditions as well as accident, near-miss accidents or potential hazard investigations.
Maintain housekeeping in work area.
Know and follow established job specific and facility wide health and safety procedures and rules.
Perform work from manufacturing information, bills of material , written and/or oral instructions.
Actively participate in health and safety training and demonstrate competency based on training received.
Pick up and place scrap in appropriate containers. Documentation / record-keeping may be required.

Experience with precision-measuring equipment such as calipers, tape measures, and micrometers. Hand tools will be utilized such as screwdrivers, hammers, wrenches, drills, grinders, portable bandsaws, files, power hand tools, drill presses, and air-driven hand tools
