Multidisciplinary teams of planners, engineers, architects, construction managers, environmental specialists, economists and consultants work together to solve complex mobility challenges with innovation and technical excellence.
The Springfield Roadway Team Lead manages roadway design staff on Missouri DOT and local agency projects, cultivates client relationships, leads project pursuits, and oversees delivery from feasibility through construction.
Responsibilities include supervising professional and technician staff, conducting quality‑assurance reviews, preparing and negotiating proposals, scopes, budgets and schedules, and communicating regularly with clients, junior engineers and sub‑consultants to keep projects on time and within budget.
This senior project manager role requires expertise in urban and rural municipal projects, traffic management, site planning, geometric design, highway and interchange design, and coordination of surveying, grading, drainage, structures and utilities.
Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent), at least seven years of relevant experience, professional registration as required, strong communication, leadership, multitasking abilities, and a commitment to HDR’s employee‑owned culture; familiarity with MoDOT and relationships with local agencies are essential.
Preferred qualifications include project‑management experience with earned‑value techniques and prior work at an architecture/engineering/construction firm; HDR also offers a supportive, inclusive environment with eight employee network groups that promote belonging and professional growth.
