Principal Civil Engineer

• Leading and mentoring the civil engineering team.
• Managing project resources, budgets, and timelines.
• Building strong client relationships and contributing to business development.
• Providing technical input and certification across a range of urban development projects.
• Supporting the General Manager in operational and strategic leadership.

Are you a seasoned Civil Engineer with deep roots in Townsville and a passion for urban development?

• Ability to mentor and develop junior engineers and technical staff.
• Strong understanding of relevant codes, standards, and engineering legislation.
• Professional accreditation (e.g. RPEQ, MIE Aust).
• Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities, with experience managing multidisciplinary teams.
• Commercial acumen and experience in client engagement and business development.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, 12D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent time management and multitasking abilities.
• Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (or equivalent).
• 10+ years’ experience in civil engineering, ideally with a background in urban development or infrastructure.
• High attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
• Proven experience in engineering design, project management, and team leadership.
• A grassroots engineer - someone who’s worked their way up and understands the full project lifecycle.
• A hands-on designer who can roll up their sleeves when needed and guide the team with technical expertise.
