Senior Electrical Engineer - Mission Critical- Wayne,PA

Description

• Design building electrical distribution, fire alarm and security systems.
• Determine schedules and details required for the project. Review with project engineer.
• Support developing electrical standards.
• Serve as a lead electrical engineer on select projects in the Mission Critical Sector. Project types include Data Center new builds, renovations, fit-outs and critical system’s infrastructure upgrades.
• Assist in writing reports and feasibility studies.
• Perform on-site surveys of existing electrical equipment.
• Ensure flow of information between disciplines.
• Attend job meetings as required.
• Prepare calculations for feeders, services, short circuit, transformer size.
• Prepare cost estimates and specifications.

Requirements

Agencies must obtain advance written approval from Bala Consulting Engineer’s HR/Recruiting Department to submit resumes. This approval must be in the form of a valid fully executed contract for service as well as a request to submit candidates to a specific job opening. Bala Consulting Engineers will not pay a fee to any Agency that does not have such an agreement in place, or for positions for which candidates have not been specifically requested.

• Background in Data Center / critical systems infrastructure is required.
• Knowledge of applicable codes including energy conservation.
• Microsoft Office experience.
• Knowledge should include familiarity with short circuit, arc flash coordination, design of interior and exterior lighting, and photometric calculations.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
• PE Preferred. EIT certification required.
• 10+ years of experience in designing Data Center critical power distribution infrastructure, fire alarm systems, lighting systems, both interior and exterior, and lighting controls.
• LEED accreditation preferred.
• Proficiency with Revit design software with at least 1 year of experience of formal design use.
