About the Role Downer is seeking a skilled and driven Fleet Engineer to provide technical expertise across our rail fleet operations. This role is key to supporting fleet performance, reliability, and continuous improvement through fault analysis, system monitoring, and engineering support over a roster which covers morning, afternoon and weekend shifts. Key Responsibilities

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
Skilled in troubleshooting and reliability improvement.
Rail industry experience preferred (5+ years ideal).
Experience in rolling stock, asset management, or heavy maintenance.
Excellent communication, time management, and IT skills.
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
Confident in data analysis and reporting.
Proficient in RAMS, engineering change, and QA processes.
Strong understanding of rolling stock systems and standards.
