Structural Bridge Engineer

Description

• Perform structural modeling and design of highway, pedestrian, and railroad bridges and related structures.
• Create plans and digital models for bridges and highway bridge approaches.
• Conduct bridge inspections and develop construction cost estimates.
• Prepare contract documents and review fabrication drawings and construction plans.
• Develop design reports, plans, specifications, and cost estimates.
• Provide training and mentoring to junior staff members.

Requirements

• Communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and collaborate within a team environment.
• Maintain strong attention to detail, self‑motivation, and a commitment to learning.
• Utilize AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and other structural design software (preferred).
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering (structural emphasis preferred) with 5‑8 years of bridge/structural design experience.
• Possess a PE license or obtain one within 6 months; a master’s degree may substitute for one year of experience.
• Completion of NHI Safety Inspection of In‑Service Bridges training is a plus.
• Familiarity with structural modeling/engineering software is a plus.
