Site Engineer

Description

As a Site Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and execution of on-site works. You will work closely with Supervisors, Engineers, subcontractors, and the broader delivery team to ensure that construction activities are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications.

• Collaborate with engineers and stakeholders to resolve design or construction issues in a timely manner.
• Champion safety culture and actively participate in toolbox talks, safety walks, and incident prevention activities.
• Support project programming, short-term planning, and look-ahead schedules.
• Assist in planning and delivering daily site activities, ensuring construction is executed in line with design requirements, safety standards, and quality expectations.
• Support quality assurance processes including verifying materials, managing test records, and contributing to NCR closeout.
• Conduct site inspections, monitor progress, and provide timely reporting on productivity, cost, delays, risks, and opportunities.
• Prepare and review technical documentation including ITPs, SWMS, RFIs, permits, and construction methodology inputs.
• Coordinate subcontractors and suppliers, providing clear direction and ensuring work fronts are ready, safe, and fully resourced.

Requirements

Unify Recruitment are working with a major contractor seeking a motivated Site Engineer to join the team on a major station build as part of a large-scale infrastructure program as part of the Gold Coast Faster Rail. This is an opportunity to work on a landmark project that will significantly enhance transport connectivity for the region, while gaining hands-on experience across complex civil, structural, and station construction works.

Site Engineer – Major Infrastructure Project (South of Brisbane) | Civil or Building Experience

• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, quality processes, and on-site coordination.
• 1–4+ years’ experience in civil, infrastructure, rail, or structural construction (station experience highly regarded).
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
• Degree qualification in Civil Engineering or a related discipline.
• Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive, hands-on approach.
