- Supports the Data Architects on solutions development to review solution, provide guidance and establish standards.
- Provides architecture, technical guidance and support to other projects involving cloud data usage.
- Extends / establishes reference architecture and patterns as needed.
- Establishing data pipelines and support required for CI/CD.
- Assists in troubleshooting and developing solutions to data related issues.
- Assists in successful completion of data architecture activities and deliverables.
- Collaborate with technical leads of other enterprise architecture domains (business, solution, infrastructure, and security) to ensure effective and efficient delivery of technical solutions.
- Participates in building out the cloud data architecture including the medallion architecture based Databricks Lakehouse.
- Provides technical advice during the transition of AER’s data assets to a cloud-based architecture.
- Contributes to Proof of Concepts and Prototypes to enhance technical capabilities for business needs.
- Supports enterprise governance committees in decision-making by reviewing presentations and deliverables and providing cloud data architectural guidance and recommendations to project teams as required.
- Implementation of data assets in cloud, like provisioning of storage and databases, including Terraform/ARM templates for Cloud Implementation.
- Provide technical advice and support to the Practice Lead of Data Architecture in implementing the cloud data architecture.
- Data migration work to move data assets to AER’s cloud environment

- Data Architecture support, including project support and ongoing support and maintenance.
- Experience in Databricks administration, configuration, and development at a senior or expert level.
- Data Solution Architect or Data Engineer designation/Certification in Microsoft Azure Cloud.
- Experience with administering and extending Unity Catalog.
- Enterprise data architecture and cloud data migration experience would be a great asset.
- Good working knowledge of Azure Data Factory.
- Data analysis documents and scripts as part of troubleshooting and solution to data issues.
- MS Azure certification or experience is required.
- 7-10 years of data architecture, data management or data engineering experience
- Data Bricks certification is a huge asset, experience is mandator.
- Well-versed in enterprise cloud data patterns.
- Experience in the Alberta oil and gas industry and/or a regulatory environment an asset
- Ability to conduct, document, and diagram data architecture and design artifacts.
- Experience in implement enterprise level cloud data migration would be an asset.
- Skilled or experienced in Cloud data provisioning and administration in Microsoft Azure
- Data Architecture artifacts including reference architecture and solution diagrams as part of project deliverables,
- Ability to provide recommendations to support data strategy.
- Ability to create and run Terraform and ARM templates.
- Enterprise cloud data architecture experience on the Microsoft Azure platform.
- Experience building Lakehouse architecture with Databricks or similar technologies
- Skilled developer on the Azure Databricks platform, with specific focus on SpqrkSQL and Python development.
- Good communication and teamwork skills demonstrated by experience.
- Pay Rate: $94.89/hour, depending on experience
