- Implement risk management programs, including hazard analysis, incident investigation, and corrective action planning
- Develop and implement comprehensive HSE and Quality Control strategies to support safety sensitive environments and project execution in the US and Canada
- Report regularly to the executive team regarding HSEQ performance, emerging trends, and areas for improvement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed HSEQ principles into all aspects of operations, including project planning and execution
- Develop a long term HSEQ strategy that aligns with the organization's goals and values
- Stay abreast of industry developments, legislative changes, and emerging trends in HSE management
- Manage and mentor HSEQ professionals, providing leadership and direction to the teams
- Oversee the HSE management system, ensuring continuous improvement through regular audits, assessments, and training initiatives
- Lead the development and implementation of HSEQ policies, procedures, standards and reporting that promote best practices and ensure a safe and healthy workplace
- Represent the organization in external HSEQ matters, including regulatory inspections, audits, and industry forums
- Identify and assess enterprise-level risk related to HSEQ, developing robust risk mitigation action plans
- Manage compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to health, safety and environmental stewardship across all company operations
- Monitor and analyze HSEQ metrics to identify trends, support decision making, evaluate program effectiveness and drive continuous improvement initiatives
- Foster a culture of safety and quality by engaging employees at all levels to prioritize HSEQ initiatives

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey HSEQ concepts to diverse audiences
- Ability to travel as required to various job sites and projects
- Proven track record of successfully implementing effective health, safety, and environmental programs
- Professional certifications such as CSP, CHMM, or equivalent are preferred
- RPP - Group RRSP
- Valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required
- Exceptional knowledge of health and safety regulations and environmental standards across North American jurisdictions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure
- Outstanding leadership and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing at all organizational levels
- Strong organizational skills with a detail-oriented approach to project management
- Post secondary degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field
- 15+ years of experience in HSEQ leadership roles within the utilities, construction or renewable energy sector
