Purpose: Schedules and coordinates the flow of work within or between departments of a single facility to expedite production.
The role reviews the master production schedule and work orders, establishes priorities for customer orders, and revises schedules based on specifications, resource availability, and machine capability. It reschedules identical processes to eliminate duplicate setups, distributes work orders with unit counts, types, and target completion dates, and works with department supervisors to monitor progress and communicate changes. The incumbent also compiles progress and downtime reports, maintains material and parts inventory, and expedites spare‑part production with defined delivery dates.
Minimum requirements include a high school diploma or GED, or up to six months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Key competencies are problem solving, teamwork, quality management, planning/organizing, productivity (quantity), and adaptability.
Physical demands include frequent standing, walking, talking, and using hands; occasional lifting of up to 25 lb; and exposure to moving mechanical parts, moderate noise, and occasional high places or weather conditions. Vision requirements include close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception.
