  • Comply with all company policies and procedures.
  • Mentors Welder 1s.
  • Operate forklifts and overhead cranes.
  • Perform welds to required quality and code standards.
  • Work outside, inside, and in dusty, noisy and hazardous areas.
  • Leads and mentors up to 5 Welders.
  • Operate welding machinery and equipment specific to trade.
  • Inspect work and document compliance.
  • Select the proper machine and sequence of operations.
  • Work in all types of weather.
  • Participates in continuous improvement efforts.
  • All employees are accountable for safety and health and are empowered to stop work if an unsafe condition is present. Employees should immediately notify their supervisor so that the hazard may be corrected.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot welding equipment.
  • Comply with safety and shop rules.
  • Follows direction and completes tasks under close supervision.
  • Contributes to lean manufacturing and process improvement initiatives.
  • Interpret job orders, cut lists, and blueprints.

  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints.
  • Proficient in FCAW and GMAW across multiple transfer modes.
  • Certified in 3G and 6G welding, with SMAW proficiency.
  • Can weld light metals and medium-complexity components.
  • Intermediate math skills including some geometry and trigonometry.
  • 3G certified in welding.
  • Communicates job status to shop leadership.
  • RK Mechanical employees and subcontractors must meet safety system requirements, including RK Orientation, CPR/First Aid/AED/Bloodborne Pathogens, Hazard Identification, and OSHA 10.
  • Read and use a tape measure accurately.
  • Working knowledge of all trade materials and tools.
  • 5+ years of welding, metal processing, and structural fitting experience.
  • Certified in 3G and able to obtain 6G certification.
  • Advanced math skills including trigonometry and geometry.
  • Awards: Whether in Construction, Manufacturing, Fabrication, or Service, RK Industries is highly recognized and accredited throughout the industry: Accreditations & Recognition
  • Proficient in basic welds meeting quality standards.
  • Lift, move, and/or carry up to 50 lbs.
  • All Welder 1 qualifications plus:
  • Mastery of weld symbols.
  • Climb, balance, squat, kneel and crouch.
  • 3–5 years of welding and metal processing experience.
  • Capable of performing advanced-complexity welds.
  • Able to weld light and heavy structural metals.
  • Strong ability in blueprint reading and layout.
  • Work in high places, tight places, confined spaces and/or other adverse locations.
  • Basic knowledge of weld symbols.
  • All Welder 2 qualifications plus:
  • Ability to perform intermediate math.
