Structural Engineer

Description

The Structural Engineer will provide technical and project support across a variety of structural projects, independently executing analyses, design packages, and technical documentation while learning full project lifecycles. Working closely with the Structural Engineering Director and the broader team, the engineer will contribute to proposals, scoping, client interactions, and will gain increasing exposure to project management and mentorship of unlicensed staff.

• Prepare final structural calculations, construction drawings, and technical reports, including condition, seismic, and forensic assessments, and stamp projects as Engineer of Record.
• Lead structural engineering tasks with minimal oversight.
• Participate in proposal development, scoping, and work‑plan creation.
• Coordinate with clients, consultants, and internal team members to meet project needs.
• Conduct site visits for structural observations per building code requirements.
• Mentor and delegate tasks to unlicensed engineering staff, increasing efficiency.
• Collaborate across disciplines and maintain awareness of overall project objectives.

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent experience (minimum three years AEC industry experience).
• Professional Engineer (P.E.) and Structural Engineer (S.E.) license with at least two years post‑licensure structural experience.
• Minimum five years of AutoCAD and Revit experience (preferred) and five years of finite element modeling (e.g., RISA‑3D) plus ancillary software such as ENERCALC.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Strong oral and written communication skills for cross‑functional information sharing.
• Excellent organizational, detail‑oriented, and independent work capabilities.
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
