Manager of Engineering, Transmission Lines

Description

The Manager of Engineering will oversee and develop the transmission line engineering teams within a designated region, ensuring delivery of high‑quality, cost‑competitive engineering services. In addition to team leadership, the role involves supporting business development initiatives and helping shape company strategies and objectives.

• Manage and develop engineering teams
• Support business development and grow regional business
• Ensure teams uphold Pickett’s values, brand promises, and code of conduct
• Provide a growth‑focused work environment
• Oversee project scope, change orders, schedules, and budgets per technical standards
• Maintain high quality and responsiveness to client requirements
• Oversee transmission line design, quality assurance and control
• Interact regularly with clients to maintain and develop relationships
• Develop and communicate alternatives for transmission line processes, structures, software, etc.
• Identify and apply relevant metrics to business, clients, and projects

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (required)
• Professional Engineer (PE) certification (required)
• 15+ years of engineering experience in consulting or electric utility (required)
• Project management experience (preferred)
• Knowledge of managing project scope, schedule, and budget fundamentals
• Understanding of evaluating engineering and design issues
• Strong verbal, written, and presentation communication skills
• Strong attention to detail; ability to work independently or in a team
• Creative thinking for engineering innovation and solutions
• Ability to thrive in fast‑paced, entrepreneurial, agile environment
• Must pass drug screen, background check, and meet driving record policy
