Description

The Immigration Specialist will manage and coordinate all employment‑based immigration matters for the organization, serving as the primary point of contact for employees, managers, HR partners and external immigration counsel. The role ensures compliance with immigration regulations while delivering a positive employee experience. The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience supporting a range of U.S. (and potentially global) immigration processes and can operate independently within established policies.

• Manage end‑to‑end employment‑based immigration cases (H‑1B, L‑1, TN, E‑3, O‑1, PERM, green cards, work‑authorization extensions/amendments) and act as primary liaison among employees, HR, managers and external counsel.
• Coordinate document collection, case initiation, tracking, follow‑ups and monitor timelines, expirations and milestones for timely filings.
• Ensure compliance with U.S. immigration laws, I‑9/E‑Verify, Department of Labor public‑access files, record retention and audit readiness; support internal audits and government inquiries.
• Partner with Legal and HR Compliance to assess immigration risk, implement corrective actions and advise on policy changes impacting workforce.
• Advise employees and managers on immigration processes, timelines and requirements; support onboarding/off‑boarding for sponsored employees and contribute to FAQs and internal communications.
• Collaborate with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners and Mobility teams on hiring, workforce planning and hard‑to‑fill technical roles.
• Manage relationships with external immigration law firms and vendors, review invoices for accuracy, track immigration‑related costs and report as needed.
• Identify and implement process improvements, develop immigration policies, procedures and training materials, and standardize case‑management systems across sites.

Requirements

The position is fully remote but may require up to 10 % travel to IEM facilities, supplier sites, compliance audits or conferences. Candidates residing in California, Colorado, Washington, Hawaii, and Nevada are excluded from consideration.

• Demonstrate strong attention to detail, confidentiality, customer‑service mindset and ability to explain complex immigration topics clearly.
• Hold a Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) and at least 3 years of in‑house employment‑based immigration experience, including hands‑on management of U.S. non‑immigrant and immigrant visa cases.
• Exhibit strong organizational, written and verbal communication skills and ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously while collaborating with external counsel.
