The technician installs, troubleshoots, and repairs electronic access control equipment, performs preventative maintenance, and integrates systems such as card access, fire alarm, intrusion, low‑voltage power, PoE, network, and VLANs. Duties include installing card readers, sensors, door hardware, maglocks and related devices, adjusting doors for proper operation, and using software and mobile apps for programming and reporting. Additional tasks involve leading helpers, responding to service calls across campuses, maintaining OSHA compliance, handling after‑hours emergencies, preparing estimates, managing inventory, supporting interconnections with security and fire systems, staying current with industry best practices, reading blueprints, communicating status, and assisting supervisors.
We are seeking a skilled Lead Access Control Technician/Security Technician to join our team. In this role you will install, maintain, and troubleshoot enterprise-level access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems in medium and large commercial buildings. You will also lead a small crew when needed and ensure tasks meet industry standards and customer expectations.
Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least five years of experience with electronic access control systems, plus a valid driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include manufacturer certifications (PDK, Brivo, RS2, Honeywell, HID, etc.), experience with various access control and video surveillance platforms, sector experience (healthcare, education, manufacturing, etc.), and proficiency in data terminations and network setup. Physical requirements include the ability to work at heights, lift up to 75 lb, climb ladders or scaffolding, and maintain reliable attendance.
