Investigates, tests, and evaluates new or alternative products, materials, and suppliers; keeping detailed records of results and collaborating with engineers, technologists, and other professionals to maintain material and supplier approvals and ensure compatibility with MBI’s building systems.
Supports MBI’s quality control programs for third party inspection programs such as UL, ICC-ES, etc., coordinating testing of materials at accredited laboratories per applicable industry standards.
Collaborates with the Product Delivery team to create, maintain, and implement standard work and quality control instructions for the organization’s various plant locations.
Performs a variety of material and product testing such as physical properties, accelerated weathering, and corrosion testing, ensuring compliance with new and existing quality standards and regulations while maintaining a functional Quality lab, including machine and equipment calibration and maintenance, safety compliance, record-keeping, and cleanliness.
Provides support to internal and external customers when needed, responding to questions and/or concerns in a timely manner.
Tracks, monitors, and reports quality issues; creating records of warranty-related quality issues and product traceability and notifying internal and external suppliers of non-conformance through formal rejection notices.
