Reporting to the Portfolio Manager, the Engineering Officer/Engineer will collaborate with a team of engineers and project delivery officers to plan maintenance, breakdowns and construction across Ausgrid’s 415V/11kV distribution network, including overhead lines, underground assets and substations. The role involves desktop analysis, site visits, preparation of Network Access Requests, job packs, resource requests and NECF, and managing stakeholder relationships to ensure safe and reliable network operation.
- Plan maintenance, breakdowns, and construction on Ausgrid’s 415V/11kV distribution network (overhead, underground, substations).
- Conduct desktop analysis, site visits, and coordinate with field supervisors to prepare job packs, Network Access Requests, resource requests and NECF.
- Manage internal and external stakeholder relationships and provide quality documentation for safe work delivery.

- Hold an Advanced Diploma or Degree in electrical or related engineering discipline (or equivalent).
- Demonstrated significant experience in electricity distribution or related technical roles, with a Class C driver’s licence.
- Knowledge of relevant statutes, regulations, network standards and safe working practices.
- Proven ability to manage multiple tasks/projects, prioritize activities, and monitor costs and financial impacts.
- Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Advanced computer skills with experience preparing written and system‑based project documentation.
- Proven problem‑solving abilities and implementation of effective solutions.

This permanent role is based in Wallsend and Ourimbah, offering a $149k base salary plus 16.5% superannuation and fortnightly rostered days off. The position provides hybrid working arrangements and free onsite parking.
