The Builder III role in Oakwood Homes' Arizona market leads construction efforts, coordinates teams, and ensures delivery of high-quality homes.
The position is fully responsible for job sites, ensuring schedules, safety standards, and production flow are met while maintaining strong relationships with trade partners and Oakwood departments.
Collaboration includes weekly safety inspections, pre-construction and walkthrough meetings with customers, and coordination with community and customer-experience teams to keep stakeholders informed about progress, warranties, and site appearance.
- Manage front-end construction activities and supervise back-end builders.
- Execute construction schedules to deliver homes on time while adhering to safety standards.
- Build and maintain relationships with trade partners, municipal partners, and Oakwood departments.
- Conduct weekly job-site safety inspections and ensure safe work practices.
- Lead pre-construction, pre-drywall, demonstration walk, and verification walk meetings with customers.
- Coordinate trade partners to meet budget and schedule deadlines.
- Resolve conflicts among stakeholders to maintain a safe, efficient work environment.
- Inspect homes to verify compliance with Oakwood specifications and job-ready requirements.
- Communicate construction progress, schedule updates, and warranty issues to sales counselors and customer-experience teams.
- Maintain accurate records with community and support center teams.
- Ensure safety and stormwater compliance in coordination with relevant managers.
- Keep job sites clean, organized, and safe for all parties.
- Cross-train with team members to acquire new skills for advancement.

Candidates must have at least three years of residential or commercial land-development experience, strong organization and project-management skills, excellent communication, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to lift 25 lb.
- Minimum 3 years experience in residential/commercial land development.
- Excellent organizational, project-management, and multitasking abilities.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for internal and external audiences.
- Ability to work under pressure, meet deadlines, and provide exemplary customer service.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds and perform essential job functions per ADA/FMLA standards.
