The Transport and Mobility Solutions Division helps conceive, drive and implement transport solutions for cities, regions and asset owners worldwide, covering the full project lifecycle from business case development to operation. The business unit also contributes to the Global Transport Sector Strategy.
- Lead utility design/diversion for highway and public transport projects.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety policies and engineering codes (NRSWA, HAUC, NJUG).
- Manage design packages, multidisciplinary teams and client-facing activities.
- Identify engineering solutions to reduce utility diversions, driving efficiency and cost savings.
- Conduct utility peer reviews for major infrastructure schemes.
- Support business development and build client networks.
- Provide technical leadership, advice and mentorship to early‑career staff.
- Control task programmes and budgets; present technical advice to clients and stakeholders.
- Contribute to bids/tenders where utilities present major project risks.

We are seeking a Senior Civil Engineer to lead our utilities capability, bringing experience in delivering complex multi‑disciplinary infrastructure and highway projects from scheme development through design and build. The role will support safety, innovation, standardisation and automation across projects, aligning with our purpose of creating positive social outcomes through delivery excellence.
The company does not currently sponsor Skilled Worker visas following changes to UK immigration policy in April 2024, but welcomes candidates eligible for alternative routes.
- Degree in Civil Engineering or relevant HNC/HND qualification.
- Professional membership in the highways sector (e.g., ICE, MCIHT).
- Experience applying CDM requirements and promoting health, safety, wellbeing and EDI.
- In‑depth knowledge of NRSWA and utility diversion processes (C2‑C9).
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary interfaces on major projects.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Capability to meet demanding schedules and targets.
- Demonstrated leadership, communication and organisational skills; willingness to travel.
- Experience with NEC3/4 engineering contracts.
- Knowledge of Navisworks, Infraworks, Bentley OpenRoads and ProjectWise.
- Familiarity with UK highway design codes and standards (DMRB, Manual of Contract Documents).
