- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and embed sustainable practices into day-to-day operations.
- Support governance frameworks to ensure SHEQS compliance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Identify, assess, and mitigate SHEQS-related risks across the business.
- Support SHEQS training and awareness programmes across the business.
- Maintain and improve quality management systems, ensuring compliance with ISO and client standards.
- Work with operational teams to ensure consistent delivery of quality outcomes across all projects.
- Provide regular reports to the COO on SHEQS risks, issues, and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health, safety, and environmental legislation across all utility divisions.
- Support delivery of the companys sustainability objectives including carbon reduction, waste management, and environmental protection initiatives.
- Provide clear SHEQS performance reporting to the COO and Executive Team.
- Promote a positive culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement across all levels of the workforce.
- Monitor and report on quality performance, driving continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote innovation in sustainability to strengthen the companys market position.
- Lead accident investigations, audits, and inspections, ensuring lessons learned are implemented across the business.
- Engage with employees, clients, and regulators to build trust and confidence in the companys SHEQS performance.

- Experience of supporting SHEQS governance and compliance within a large business (£500m+ turnover).
- Full compliance with all SHEQS legislation, regulations, and standards across the business.
- Achievement of sustainability objectives including measurable carbon reduction and environmental improvements.
- Strong employee engagement and culture of safety, sustainability, and continuous improvement embedded across the workforce.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with experience engaging at operational and senior leadership levels.
- Knowledge of ISO certifications, audits, and quality systems.
- Excellent communication, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong knowledge of UK health, safety, environmental, and quality legislation and standards.
- Ability to influence cultural change in safety, sustainability, and quality across a large workforce.
- Proven experience in a SHEQS role within utilities, infrastructure, or construction, ideally across multiple sectors.
- ISO certifications maintained and quality standards consistently achieved across contracts.
- Reduction in incidents, near misses, and SHEQS-related risks.
