Tasks

-Support the development of work breakdown structures, coding structures, and project controls standards -Anticipate risks and opportunities, providing recommendations to reduce schedule delays and cost impacts -Lead cost control activities including budget development, forecasting, earned value analysis, and variance reporting -Track project progress, productivity, and performance indicators to support accurate decision-making -Monitor schedule performance, identify variances, and recommend mitigation strategies to maintain project timelines -Maintain accurate documentation of schedule changes, cost movements, and project controls assumptions -Work closely with project managers, engineers, planners, and field teams to coordinate work sequencing and address constraints -Develop, maintain, and oversee detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 for all phases of mechanical construction, maintenance, and turnaround activities -Participate in project meetings and contribute to strategic planning, execution readiness, and continuous improvement initiatives -Integrate subcontractor schedules into a unified master schedule to ensure alignment with project milestones and deliverables -Ensure project controls processes align with industry best practices and contribute to consistent project delivery -Prepare and deliver regular progress updates, dashboards, and analytical reports to project leadership and stakeholders

What You Bring

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Controls Manager to support heavy industrial capital, maintenance and turnaround work. This role is responsible for overseeing project scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and performance reporting while coordinating closely with multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced brownfield environments. The ideal candidate is detail-driven, analytical, and adaptable, with strong experience managing project controls for large industrial construction or maintenance projects. -Experience developing dashboards or reporting using Power BI, Tableau, or similar tools -Minimum of 7 years’ experience in project controls within heavy industrial, oil refinery, expansion, or turnaround/shutdown environments -Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams, including subcontractors, engineers, project managers, and field supervisors -Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or equivalent related experience -Ability to work in fast-paced environments with tight deadlines and evolving project priorities -Knowledge of risk management practices including qualitative and quantitative risk analysis -Strong proficiency with Primavera P6 and advanced scheduling methodologies -P6 certification, PMP, CCP, or equivalent professional designation -Background in mechanical contracting or refinery maintenance contracting -Experience with large-scale refinery expansion projects or major industrial shutdowns/turnarounds -Strong understanding of mechanical construction methods, work sequencing, and industrial maintenance workflows -Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills -Familiarity with progress measurement systems, productivity tracking, and field-level data collection tools -Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and competing priorities -Proven ability to manage complex brownfield project environments with frequent scope changes -Experience using cost management software or integrated project controls platforms -Demonstrated expertise in cost control, forecasting, earned value management, and progress reporting

Benefits

Salary: $135,000 - $175,000
